PURPOSE OF POSITION 

Support the operation to deliver Superior Guest Service by managing, coordinating, and preparing food, and ensures quality and consistency of products. Manages and monitors food inventory, estimates par levels and requirements and makes appropriate orders. Description

Purpose/Position Summary: 

Support the operation by serving as second in command in any kitchen. Ensures that the kitchen runs smoothly by assisting the line cooks when necessary.  Effectively coach and mentor kitchen staff.  Plan and direct the preparation of food in the kitchen.  Assist with the scheduling of personnel.  Fill-in for the executive chef, when needed.

Au Bon Pain- Guest Service Represenative

Description

Position Summary 

This position contributes to Au Bon Pain’s success by ensuring ABP guest service and café standards are met and exceeded. Hourly team members accomplish this by consistently exceeding our guest’s expectations, providing delicious food and engaging service in an energized environment. The Guest Service Representative is expected to learn all positions in the café and routinely works in each position. 

 

Key Position Responsibilities 

• To ensure optimal guest service, learns and demonstrates ‘Guest First Service’ to every guest, every day in all aspects of guest interaction, ensuring guests have a positive experience. 

 

• Proactively monitors the activities occurring in the café, responds to guest’s needs and says thank you to every guest for choosing Au Bon Pain, to maximize the potential for repeat business. 

 

• Learns about and understands the menu and the ingredients that go into each menu item and uses this information to ensure food preparation is accurate and meets all standards, and responds effectively to guest questions and special requests. 

 

• Learns, understands, and practices safe food handling at all times to eliminate risk to our guests. 

 

• Learns and follows cafe policy and procedures for each work station to ensure ABP standards are met and the guest experience is optimized. 

 

• Learns and follows ABP standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing products. Follows inventory stocking and recording guidelines to maintain integrity of product. 

 

• Performs cleaning tasks in accordance with shift assignments and cleaning standards to ensure Au Bon Pain’s standards are maintained. 

 

• Adheres to cash handling procedures and cash register policies to ensure minimal cash shortages. 

 

• Actively contributes to café goals for increasing sales and improving profits by exceeding guest expectations and fulfilling each responsibility. 

 

• Takes responsibility for self-initiated learning to enhance skills and to be effectively cross trained in all functions. 

 

 

• Works as a café team member by treating coworkers, guests, and others with dignity and respect to support Au Bon Pain’s culture. 

 

• Assists in keeping all café equipment, furniture and fixtures well maintained to ensure a safe and pleasant environment. 

 

• Is punctual and adheres to attendance policy and dress code in accordance with the Company handbook. 

 

• Brings any concerns to the attention of the manager on duty. 

• Other related responsibilities as assigned. 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

• Previous experience in a customer service environment preferred. 

• Ability to read, listen to, and follow directions, communicate with English speaking guests, and count change required. 

 

Beginning Wage $9.50 - $10.00/hour - Flexible commensurate with experience

Crews (Newsstands)- Sales Associate

Description

Job Summary:

Must be able to fulfill the company customer service standards by being friendly, available, and customer focused.  Possess the ability to maximize sales in an accurately and efficiently manner.  Must possess positive values of integrity, fairness, respect, teamwork, and high standards.  Adhere to all company and airport policies and procedures.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer within 10 seconds.
  • Follow all company policies, cash handling policies and special store loss prevention procedures and safe guard company assets.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, fellow employees, and store management.
  • Accurately and efficiently ring all items in the point of sale system as outlined in the Cash Register Policy.
  • Learn how to offer additional items to customers at the point of sale.
  • Know basic store layout to assist the customers in their selection of product and be able to answer customer questions about the entire store.
  • Maintain outstanding standards, and solid product knowledge.
  • Maintain awareness of all promotions, advertisements businesses/offerings within the stores.
  • Assist other store employees in maintaining security in stores.
  • Stock merchandise accordingly to company standards.
  • Inform management of any out of stock situations.
  • Maintain a neat and organized appearance- following company dress code guidelines.
  • Help maintain a neat, clean, organized store, which includes sweeping, dusting, straightening of merchandise on store fixtures and displays.
  • Perform related work as assigned.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to pass a Background Investigation.
  • Ability to process information/merchandise through point of sale system.
  • Ability to communicate with associates and customers in a professional manner.
  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • 1-2 years of retail cashier/and/or sales experience preferred.

 

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above. Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, as needed. May be required to work overtime.
